Like most women I Love Love Love a good pair of shoes.

I love and adore Christian Louboutin but a last I am not ball’n to afford his shoes *sigh*

but here are a few pairs I would give my left foot for

Now you can not tell me these are not some of the most BEAUTIFUL shoes you have ever seen

But I have found a few websites which sell drool worthy shoes at a price you can afford

6pm.com - great site they have a sale every day and they are good shoes and some go as low as 7.95 a pair, sign up for their daily sales emails….I will warn you it is VERY tempting lol

I got these back in September for 7.95 a pair…

for a 4.5″ platform heel these are so comfy, they are black suede and have a zipper on the side LOVE THESE

another 4.5″ platform pump they are so HAUT and can be worn for about 4 hours with out your fee hurting again a great sexy shoe

These are 3.5″ platform great with a pair of pants

These are a men’s oxford style shoe with a peep toe and a heel, again great with slacks

These are 3.5 platform pumps black and pink, again another SEXY HAUT shoe, I need to take a better picture

Street Walker Ware?!

While I am not a slave to fashion, I might be a prisoner though lol.  But as a lot of fashionistas out there I am dying to see what the new fall trends are….I posted up the colors for fall, now the boots, coats, etc are starting to appear in the stores…. I am giddy I used to love back to school shopping for clothes…get my fresh new gear to style and profile…*it was the 80′s so i wont post any pics*

But as I read my Rachel Zoe daily email for today *LOVE RZ BTW* #TEAMBRAD, I am kind of shocked at the mainstreaming of what I like to call “Street Walker Chic”

While I love a pair of over the knee boots I am just wondering when did this become in the main stream?  And it is not like you will pair these boots with a long skirt you need a mini or pair of short shorts to pair them with….Not the most practical in the Fall/Winter time when the temps drop. These are Christian Louboutin *bad aint they*  Here is a look from Chole Fall 2010 Runway look with over the knee boots and short shorts.

I am having Pretty Woman Flash Backs with these over the knee boots…..I guess of Heroine Chic could be a trend style for a few years the street walkers deserve time in the spot light.

While I love a pair of Over the Knee Boots Curvy Girls I think we need to pass on said trends…. at least for now… lets see what else they have out there…Unless you are wearing them out Oct. 31, 2010 lol

As many of you all know i am a child of the 70′s.  My parents born in the 50′s came of age in the 60′s so of course this colors my world.  My family means a great deal to me and we have a tradition in our family for naming the daughters.  My Great Grandmother was Louis Ann, My grandmother Marie Louis, My Mother Rhona Marie…but me…I am different even before I was born…my name Rhona Vonetta…. Now my dad gave us all our middle names, Vonetta being mine… I was told even at an early age i was name after Vonetta McGee…an actress my father thought was the FOINEST woman walking *next to my mom of course*   I have always felt like I knew Vonetta McGee, even thought I never met her personally.  So when the news that she has passed on July 9, 2010 I was a bit heart broken.  She was 65 years young, and a star of many black movies in the 70′s.

I will not rehash what she has done just say REST IN PEACE VONETTA

Many a young black girl born in the 70′s has been named after you, with out you I would not have the name I love so much.

As a kid I loved the fall season, even back to school because I could get new clothes and the new TV shows would be on…. Well we are at that point that Retailers are starting to buzz about the fall and fall fashions.  Maybe its the 35th day of 90+degree weather we have had here in Maryland, or the week of 100+ degree weather we had but I think I am ready for FALL!!!!  You would think that the 80+” of snow we got this winter I would not dare to dream of cooler temps but enough already lol.  Even though my allergies will be off the chain like they were in the spring this heat is way too much for the kid….any who…. This post is about the colors from the 2010 Fall Fashion and the Color forecast from Pantone…check out Fashion Trendsetters blog….

The colors for fall a very similar to the spring colors and I look forward to the fashion finds for this fall….

You all know I Love Purples, Pinks and Reds….so I am all over this color pallet the Purple Orchid, Rose Dust and Chocolate Truffle I think will be my favs this fall…..

What Happened to Shorts??!!!

I am getting ready for the Shriner Convention in Tampa, Fl, in a few weeks, and while i love to make clothes I do not always have time to sew for my self.  So I am looking for a couple pairs of shorts to take on my trip with me.  I see why the shorts i have in my closet are about 10 years old….The state of shorts is YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

While it took me years to find capris i could wear, being  5′-5″ i am too tall for Petite and too short for Average sooo capris hit me in the wrong spot i look like my mom didnt love me and dressed me crazy, they make my feet look extra big and crazy looking…..and no it is not all in my mind i have had girlfriends go with me and the look on their face alone told me capris were not for me lol.

I did find that skinny capris or ones that i can roll up are better for me From Lane Bryant $54.50  The Capris i have resemble these

….but i only have 2 pairs and i have had those 2 for a good 3 years….any who i wanted another pair of shorts or another pair of capris…..So i start looking online at the usual curvy girl spots, Ashely Stewart, Avenue, and Lane Bryant….and what do i see…

These walking shorts….. these are from Lane Bryant $49.50

uh what woman with thick thighs as my self would wear these shorts? i see them getting bunched up in the crotch and just not look good at all…..or they are very short.

I am baffled at these shorts they have online, maybe with hope and a prayer when i go to the store i will see something different. lol

I really love wearing leggings with a tunic top and a big belt…i guess that is the look i will sport on vacay……

Cute Curvy Girl Model Spotlight

I will be doing a monthly series on Curvy Girl Models

The first will be Joan Fowler who actually gave me the idea…so THANK YOU JOAN!!!!!!

What makes you a cute curvy girl? What makes me a cute curvy girl is that my body is my best friend. I feel like my inner glow shines on the outside. I love being a feminine woman and the curves that come along with it.

How did you get into modeling? I have been into modeling since college. I was in the fashion merchandising program at Cal State Northridge, and the fashion club I was a part of would do fashion shows. I found myself wanting to be a model in the shows rather than working behind the scenes. Than after college I decided I should look into it, so I just started looking for photographers and getting my picture taken.

It’s fun and it’s a creative outlet for me, which is the most important part about it.

What projects have you been a part of? I’ve shot for a costume company twice brandsonsale.com. I also modeled in runway shows for Moonlight Serenade Lingerie. I did a music video for the band sea wolf for their song “violet hour” off the Twilight New Moon soundtrack. That was a lot of fun because I love the Twilight Series!

What are the three Cute Curvy Girl essentials you could never go without? I could never leave home without a huge purse. I carry lots of stuff with me, so I always need a big purse. Than I make sure I have lip gloss, and I also always have a novel in my purse. A curvy girl needs to be smart and know about the world around her, and reading is fun and good for you.

How would you describe your style? I like to wear girly clothes. I love flowers, bows, and dresses. I also like my clothes to be form fitting. I don’t feel just because I’m curvy means that I don’t want my clothes to have a nice shape to them.  A lot of the clothes I see for plus size girls try to hide every curve and I don’t like that. My curvy girl style icon is Mariah Carey because I like how even though

the press always tries to tell her she’s to big to dress how she does she wears exactly what she likes and doesn’t try to hide and I love that.

Where do you hope plus size modeling will take you? I definitely want to keep shooting and just have beautiful photos to look back on one day. I want to travel and get signed with an agency that works with plus models.

If you could do anything for the day what would you do? I would like to go on a hot air balloon ride. I also like going on roller coasters and water rides. And I love swimming.

Any final curvy girl words you would like to leave us with? Yes always embrace the things you feel you need to change. For years I was always annoyed my hair was wild and out of control but now I feel that’s the fun part about it, I never know what it’s going to do!  I’m very pale and fair skinned. I used to want to do these spray tans that would get all over my clothes and it was just a mess. I learned to just accept that this is how my skin naturally is and to work with it and accept that that’s just my look.  Find yours. You’re already what you need to be.

It was one year ago, that I was on the train coming home from work, and reading twitter when i heard it….Micheal Jackson has been rushed to the hospital.  By the time I got home the King of Pop had died.   I stood in my living room looking at the TV in shock and disbelief.  On the phone with my college friend who loved MJ more than i did…both of us stunned….That this man was gone.  But MJ was more than just the King of Pop to me, more than a celeb or entertainer he represented my childhood.  The first real record I remember owning was my Micheal Jackson Thriller album and yes I still have it.  I played this thing day and night on my fisher price my first record player…..  I was obsessed with MJ after that, i had the buttons, the t-shirts, the purses, etc….the books all of that, i wanted to see the Jacksons Victory tour, my dad got me that record *which i still have* also, i have the Jackson anthology, and Off the Wall, all in record form.  My father and I would have friendly debates about Prince vs Michael Jackson…. I was not a Prince fan at this point in my life but Michael was every thing to me.

As I got older, I was not so obsessed with MJ but i would buy every CD he released from Bad, to Dangerous, to Blood on the Dance Floor *yes i have that one too* I sat rivited at the moonracker movie, and was perplexed by his appearance over the years.   But I stilled loved Mike for what he reminded me of.

So as I sit here one year later and can’t stop crying as I write this blog…. I am reminded of the good times and the joy in my life at the time of Thriller, I was 10 when it came out.

So King of Pop, Michael Jackson… May You Rest in Peace… and your fans world wide miss you ever so dearly….

There is a disturbing new trend for the summer ROMPERS!!!! WTH?!  I hated these things when they came out the 80’s and I am not liking it this go round either.

While some I think are cute, like the denim one, in the above picture,  from the House of Dereon, @ Macy’s for $89.00, many I am not feeling like this one

from target for $18 bucks.

This one from Apple Bottom is just wrong on so many levels

These rompers don’t look all that great on small to average women…so I don’t know what they were thinking for us curvy, plus sized women.

I did not wear them when they came around the first time, with the lack of hips and a bit busty I looked preggers in the rompers.  So you can only imagine my chagrin at this trend making a come back….

I can get with the jumpsuit better than the romper…. Just not a good look for grown women….

While they are adorable on little kids, I do not need an adult onesie to wear.  Especially if you are like me and wear some kind of smoother/foundation garment, this can make having to get in and out of your onesie difficult at best, and do not be in a hurry.

This is one trend that needs to die, like stirrup pants *shudders *

So my Curvy Divas…what is your take on the rompers? Thumbs up? Or Thumbs Down?

Yeah I am one of THEM!!!

I am addicted to Glee….

My S.O. got me hooked on the show, which I can so identify with.  I was the fat yet funny kid in high school, I could not sing but I played the piano.

I SOOOO identify with what these kids go through each week on the show.  The kind of cool teachers, the evil harpies you wish would roll up and die and your friends who you think are cool but

just might not be in the In Crowd.  You might have been the tech nerd, the math geek, the gay kid, etc what ever names they have come up with in this decade its all the same…YOU WERE PICKED ON by the “COOL” kids…..

So I see why so many ADULTS love Glee…. we catch a glimpse of our childhood selves in the 60 mins on tv.  All the hopes and dreams we had back then… or at least I did….. lol

My 20 year High School reunion should be next year…should be interesting to see how far people have come since high school and since the 10 year.

So to all my un-cool or what ever word is used now… I say tune in to Glee on Tuesday Nights at 9PM EST/8PM CST on Fox….

You wont be disappointed…..
